I’m going to be expantiating on hair porosity for this month
we have 3 hair porosity type
low porosity hair
Medium porosity hair
High porosity hair

Hair porosity is simply how well your hair is able to absorb and retain moisture and oils.

Low porosity hair simply means the structure of your hair doesn’t easily allow moisture to be absorbed into your hair shaft.
SIGNS OF LOW POROSITY HAIR
Cuticle(outermost layer of your hair) tend to overlap each other and are tightly packed together because there are no spaces between the cuticles,it makes it harder for water as well as product like oils and conditioner to deliver moisture to the hair shaft
There is always buildup and dirt in your hair
you’re prone to dandruff
Hair is usually difficult to style

THREE VITAL THINGS YOU MUST NOTE ABOUT LOW POROSITY HAIR
Do not use heavy butter and oils- you must not use this as they tend to accumulate quickly which causes buildup.
Conditioner must go with heat – Deep conditioner tend to penetrate than regular conditioner
The purpose of this heat is to open cuticle for penetration (A steam cap would provide this heat)
Wash /Shampoo your hair – This should be done at least twice in a month, this is vital as to wash the buildup in hair scalp.

CARING FOR YOUR LOW POROSITY HAIR
Cleanse your scalp- This is essential because your hair porosity is prone to product build up which may sit on top of your hair ,if they aren’t properly absorbed ,it can lead to dryness and flakes
Black Soap and rice water can be used to remove build up
Also Apple cider vinegar helps to remove build up.

Steam Cap is very essential – This will help to open your cuticle and promote penetration more easily .
Use Humectants – They allow moisture into your hair scalp
Humectants are present in honey and glycerine.
Avoid Heavy products and silicone- Silicone products and heavy butters can be too much for low porosity
Use oil like Almond oil,Jojoba oil,Argan oil,Grapeseed oil,Olive oil and sunflower
